SUMMARY OF POSITION

The HR Director position has a key role in determining, implementing, and supporting the HR processes in the Firm. The role requires a good strategic understanding for Firm objectives and an ability to support and work alongside Firm management on recruiting, onboarding, promoting, training, and performance management. The position will help enforce and build Firm Mission, Vision and Values throughout the Firm. Together with the CAO, Managing Partners, Marketing Director, Firm Administrator and other colleagues, the position holder is managing all aspects of firm HR processes.

TASKS

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the Firm’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
  • Provides support and guidance to department heads, managers, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Administer employee benefit plans
    • Coordinate and conduct open enrollment
    • Communicates and encourage participation in benefits
    • Administer the Firm’s retirement plans
    • Take the lead in the benefit renewal process
  • Recruitment & Onboarding
    • Manage the recruitment process and ensure consistency
    • Manage offer letters and background checks
    • Manage employee onboarding program
  • HRIS/Payroll
    • Develop and maintain the HRIS system
    • Respond to employment verification requests
    • Process semi-monthly payrolls
    • File applicable government reports
    • Track and maintain CPE records
    • Research and provide education opportunities to the Firm
    • Process, schedule, and record CPE/training requests
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience required
  • A minimum of ten years of human resource management experience preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP desired

RESPONSIBILITY & AUTHORITY

  • Process owner for HR processes
  • All responsibilities and authorities are based on company policy (RACI), other internal documentation and financial attestation instructions
  • This position is directly authorized to attest items and sign agreements according to separate routine
  • This position has no financial attestation authority
