Beryl Reid joined MichaelSilver in 1996 and was named partner in 2004. In 2017, she became leader of the firm's tax consulting and compliance practice as well as the private client services group. Prior to joining the firm as a Senior Manager, she spent time at a nationally-recognized CPA firm, where she worked with high net worth families and large corporations and specialized in individual and corporate tax.
Beryl has over 25 years of tax, accounting, and consulting experience working with high net worth individuals, their families, business concerns, and estates as a family office consultant. Her industry focus includes manufacturing, real estate, distributors, and professional service providers. Beryl leads the firm's tax consulting and compliance practice and the private client services group. She also serves as the firm’s key resource on not-for-profit tax issues, including 990s. She also has experience managing voluntary compliance with foreign account disclosures. Beryl's specific areas of expertise include:

Beryl’s portfolio of clients includes some of the largest high net worth families in the Chicagoland area. She serves her clients by working closely with their attorneys, investment bankers, and other business advisors.
Beryl is responsible for selecting the firm’s tax training and CPE course materials, and she acts as the key partner on the firm’s charitable and community activities. She currently serves as a resource for the Oncology Department at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society, and the Chicago Finance Exchange. Beryl received a Bachelor’s in Accounting and a Bachelor’s in Finance from Northern Illinois University, and her Master’s Degrees in Taxation from DePaul University in Chicago.
