Steve Handler has been the Partner in Charge of MichaelSilver’s International Services practice since 1997. He specializes in providing strategic consulting services to international businesses seeking to enter the U.S. market. Steve has served clients throughout North America, and in over 25 countries across the globe, including Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia.
Steve serves as both Treasurer (North American Region) and on the International Executive Committee (Board of Directors) of GMN International (GMNI), a worldwide association of independent accounting firms. He enjoys close relationships with The State of Illinois Foreign Trade Offices, international law firms, major national and regional banks, as well as many of his GMNI colleagues.
Steve’s other international affiliations include the Midwest Region of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce, where he was on the board and currently serves as Treasurer. Additionally, he is a member of the International Trade Group of Greater Chicago and the Gothenburg-Chicago Sister Cities Committee. He previously served as one of the hosts for former Chicago Mayor Richard Daley’s International Millennium Celebration.
Steve has been a frequent speaker before a broad variety of national and international chambers, groups, and entities, including in Canada, Sweden (Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmo), and the UK (Glasgow, London, Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle), as well as before the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and a local CPA Roundtable, lecturing on the topic of “How To Do Business in the U.S.”

Joe Roznai, Partner, leads MichaelSilver’s international tax team. He has over thirty years of experience in the international aspects of U.S. taxation, serving and working with foreign companies and investors engaged in establishing/operating U.S. subsidiaries, as well as U.S. companies and their investors looking to expand abroad. Joe has also provided tax consulting and compliance expertise on behalf of foreign nationals based in the U.S., as well as on behalf of U.S. expatriates working abroad. Prior to joining MichaelSilver, Joe worked extensively with a broad range of Japanese businesses and individuals. He speaks German fluently.

Henrik Wiberg has more than 20 years of consulting and executive experience in many European countries and the U.S. He has held CEO and other senior management roles within the Automotive, Technology, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Retail Industries in the U.S. and around the world. Those roles include executive positions with all of the big three automotive companies at dealer, national sales company, and manufacturer levels. He has also worked with many companies on a multitude of general business consulting matters.
