Neil Friedman is a Senior Partner with MichaelSilver. He joined the firm in 1969 and became a partner in 1972.

Neil is committed to achieving excellence in client service.  His areas of expertise include accounting and assurance, litigation support, and consulting services for a diverse group of clients, including automotive dealerships, leasing, retail, real estate, and service and sales organizations.

With over 40 years of automobile and truck dealership industry experience, Neil consults with his dealership clients on a broad range of accounting and financial matters. He has specific expertise in dealership valuations, appraisals, estate planning, and income tax matters. He also analyzes financial statements to assist dealerships in improving profits and operations. Additionally, Neil has represented numerous buyers and sellers of dealerships in everything from negotiating a transaction through closing and post-closing transactions. Neil co-authors the monthly publication Power Steering, a newsletter focused on financial issues and challenges facing automobile dealerships. He has also presented at dealership association events and contributed articles to the Chicago Automobile Trade Association’s member newsletter. 

Neil is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He has also conducted seminars on various aspects of accounting.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and a Master of Science in Accountancy from Roosevelt University.

Neil and his wife, Paula, live in north suburban Chicago.
