We are providing you with some very important information from Intuit for users of QuickBooks Desktop and those considering new accounting software!
- As of May 31, 2024, Intuit will no longer support QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2021 (Pro Plus, Premier Plus, Mac Plus, Enhanced Payroll) – Intuit will not provide helpdesk or other support after this date for the 2021 version. You can still use your software, but if something goes wrong or you lose data, it will likely be unrecoverable. QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2022 and 2023 versions, which were sold by subscription, will need to be renewed at the end of the subscription year.
- If you are currently using QuickBooks Desktop 2021, we strongly suggest that you either upgrade to the 2024 Desktop version (now offered as an annual subscription) or consider transitioning to QuickBooks Online (QBO) or another cloud-based accounting system.
- As of July 31, 2024, Intuit will no longer sell new subscriptions (for customers not currently using QuickBooks Desktop) for QuickBooks Pro and Desktop Enhanced Payroll.
- QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise will be the only Intuit Desktop product available after July 31, 2024. Intuit is focusing its efforts on the continued development of its QuickBooks Online product line.
There are multiple versions of QuickBooks Online (QBO) accounting software to meet your needs. If you are affected by these changes, please talk with your trusted MichaelSilver advisor at 847.982.0333 or contact our Client Accounting/Advisory Services team at [email protected]. We are available to advise on the transition to QBO or other accounting software solutions.
