Kristy McElroy, CPA, joined MichaelSilver in 2019. With over 20 years of experience, including 6 years at a Big Four public accounting firm specializing in real estate and private equity, Kristy has worked with both individual and business clients. Since joining MichaelSilver, Kristy has aligned herself with the Firm by taking active leadership roles of various initiatives, including leading the tax department’s internal summits, serving as a dedicated mentor and committee member in the Firm’s Group Mentoring Program, and providing guidance by hosting a parent support group during the pandemic.

Kristy adeptly provides proactive planning to minimize tax liabilities for high-net-worth individuals and flow-through entities. She strategically partners with clients within diverse industries, including real estate, professional services, automobile dealerships, and private equity to develop practical solutions to issues. Kristy’s extensive knowledge spans complex partnership taxation, state nexus and apportionment, pass-through entity tax, IRA contribution and distribution rules, and Roth conversion planning for clients. In recent years, Kristy has further enhanced her focus on employee benefits and retirement planning, offering consultation on IRAs and small business retirement plans.
