We offer flexibility—work remotely, in-office, or hybrid. During the initial training period, you may be required to work in the office a few days per week to ensure a smooth onboarding experience. Throughout the year, periodic in-office meetings and client visits in Deerfield, Illinois, and the surrounding area may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Accounting & Financial Management:
  • Manage full-cycle outsourced accounting services, including financial statements, general ledger reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow management
  • Oversee payroll and sales tax filings, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Research and resolve complex payroll and sales tax issues, including managing sales and payroll tax notices
  • Review work performed by associate-level staff, providing guidance and training
  • Client Advisory & Relationship Management
  • Act as a strategic advisor, providing data-driven insights and financial guidance to help clients make informed business decisions
  • Meet with clients quarterly (or as needed) to analyze financial statements, discuss business performance, and recommend strategies for growth
  • Lead client onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition to our accounting systems and reporting frameworks
  • Develop deep client relationships by proactively identifying needs and offering value-added advisory services
Technology & Process Improvement:
  • Leverage technology (QuickBooks Online, Xero, Yardi, and other platforms) to streamline workflows and automate routine tasks
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend best practices for financial operations
  • Stay current on emerging accounting technologies and automation tools to enhance service delivery
Qualifications & Skills:

✔️ 3-5 years of experience in a CPA firm supporting multiple clients/entities (required)
✔️ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
✔️ Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, Yardi, and other accounting platforms
✔️ Tech-savvy – comfortable learning and utilizing various cloud-based accounting and automation tools
✔️ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reporting skills
✔️ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – ability to explain complex financial data in a client-friendly manner
✔️ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat
✔️ Highly organized with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
✔️ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

Work Schedule & Culture:
  • Standard workweek: 37.5 hours
  • Busy season (January – March) up to 50 hours/week, including some weekends

MichaelSilver is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role for those assigned and/or hired to work in Illinois. The pay range is $85,000 – $100,000 annually plus discretionary bonus. Individual pay rates within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, certifications, skills, and geography.
