Senior, Accounting and Assurance

Our Accounting and Assurance Department performs a full range of assurance engagements, including audits, reviews and compilations, and a variety of special projects/consultations. The ideal candidate for this position is energetic, engenders trust, and enjoys the opportunity to be innovative and consultative.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans and leads various audit, review, compilation, and accounting projects
  • Prepares and reviews workpapers, financial statements, and tax-related schedules
  • Supervises, reviews, and develops associate and intern staff
  • Communicates with and strengthens relationships with clients and co-workers
  • Applies self diligently to learning and understanding technical skills and on-the-job practices and business processes
  • Develops a deeper understanding of client businesses in a variety of different industries

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Master’s a plus)
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in public accounting at an associate or senior level
  • Successful completion of or working toward completion of CPA exam
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Technical knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and related research expertise
  • Experience with Caseware or similar trial balance product
  • Ability to budget efficiently and manage your and staff time
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/clients simultaneously
  • Must be willing to work a hybrid schedule and be able to travel to clients in the Chicagoland area and for in-office firm and departmental meetings

MichaelSilver is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role for those assigned and/or hired to work in Illinois. The pay range is $85,000 – $105,000 annually plus discretionary bonus. Individual pay rates within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, certifications, skills, and geography.
