Overview:

THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE TO WORK IN OUR DEERFIELD OFFICE AT LEAST 2-3 DAYS/WEEK INITIALLY. REMOTE (Chicagoland area only!) OR HYBRID WORK ARRANGEMENTS WILL BE CONSIDERED AFTER APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS.

As a Senior, Tax accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation and technical review of individual, partnership, corporate, and fiduciary income tax returns. In addition to tax compliance, you will be involved in researching complex tax issues as well as identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and technical review of individual, partnership, corporate, and fiduciary tax returns, including consolidated and multi‐state entities
  • Preparation and technical review of tax planning projections
  • Respond to IRS and state notices/inquiries and assist with federal and state tax audits
  • Perform research on technical tax issues and communicate results
  • Mentor and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment
  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Contribute to practice development and professional business networking

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; MST preferred
  • CPA or working toward completion of exam required
  • 5+ years of recent public accounting experience and 2-3+ years as a Senior required
  • Experience with CCH/Axcess tax software required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and client service oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast‐paced environment

MichaelSilver is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role for those assigned and/or hired to work in Illinois. The pay range is $85,000 – $105,000 annually plus discretionary bonus. Individual pay rates within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, certifications, skills, and geography.
