Team MichaelSilver is the Top Fundraising Team for the 2019 Chicago Honor Ride

Jun 18, 2019

Thank you, everybody who rode with TeamMichaelSilver and to those who donated to the 2019 Honor Ride Chicago on June 9th, making TeamMichaelSilver the top fundraiser for the event, more than we have ever raised in a single charitable event!! We had 18 signed up to ride, plus our 3 rest stop volunteers—21 in all—another record number for our participation in this event.

Even the weather cooperated this year. Three few brave and adventurers rode the grueling 37 mile track from Evanston Subaru in Skokie all the way up to Moraine Park/Fort Sheridan in Highwood and back—kudos to Sean Birmingham, Katy Giesecke, and Harry Steindler–won’t say which one added the unscheduled extra two miles or so before discovering they missed a turn.

The rest of the team rode “the usual” 18-mile route from Evanston Subaru in Skokie, up to Winnetka and back through Evanston along the lakefront–again, won’t say who may have added a bit of distance as a result of a missed turn or two for this route, either. Thanks to our 18-mile riders: Will Bigger, Jennifer Birmingham, Amanda, Cantacessi, Katy Giesecke, Wesley Lam, Eric Larson, Barb Roznai, Katie Roznai, Joe Roznai, Doug Stehman, Steve Stehman, Harry Steindler, Henrik Wiberg, Steve Wilcox, and Mo Yangfan.

Thank you, Janell Wilson, Laurie and Phil Kaplan for your hard work at the refreshment stop in Village Green Park in Winnetka. We hope you know how much your efforts were appreciated by the riders who stopped part-way through their 18-mile (or longer) rides.

Thank you to all who donated to the team and to the individual riders’ pages. Your efforts are just as important as the efforts of our riders. Your gifts will help many current and former military and first responders recover from the physical and psychological injuries through the efforts of this fine organization. Everybody’s fundraising efforts are deeply appreciated by the Honor Ride organization.
